Community Tables Across Rhode Island, OHA helps fund roughly 70 Community Table meal sites. In addition to providing opportunity to partake in a nutritionally appropriate meal, Community Tables are an important source of connection and engagement by bringing neighbors together. OHA contracts with five (5) community-based organizations to deliver the Community Table program. They include: Aging Well Inc., Blackstone Health, Inc., East Bay Community Action Program, Meals on Wheels of Rhode Island, Inc., and Westbay Community Action, Inc. These agencies help oversee the management and operations of each Community Table to include developing a meal schedule to meet the desires of participants. Locations Indicates a Community Table meal site in a housing facility. Residents under age 60 with a disability residing in the housing facility in which the meal site is located may receive Title IIIC eligible meals at these locations. Indicates select Newport Creamery, IHOP, Pizza J’s, and Uncle Tony’s Pizza restaurants that have collaborated with Meals on Wheels of RI and East Bay Community Action Program to provide vouchers to individuals who prefer dining in a restaurant setting for use at some of their locations. This option expands access to breakfast, evening and weekend meals as well as meals shared with younger family or friends. A suggested voluntary contribution of $5.00 is suggested for each Senior Nutrition Program restaurant voucher.
